Zion Canyon

Green valley and great views looking up

Differing from the Grand Canyon, which roadside views are from above, Zion Canyon gives you roadside views from the bottom of the canyon. A river runs through the valley and there are plenty of trees and grass. From the base, the monolithic rock formations look even more intimidating.

Also, the eastern road going into the canyon has amazing views that should not be passed up.

Trick photo - Lisa falling

For a fantastic view of the valley at the top, and an exciting trip up, jump on this trail. Almost to the top, you cross a ridge. To the left is a sheer cliff. Stage falling photo by having one person lay down and the camera person uphill. It looks like they're hanging on the edge of the cliff, but actually the ground is almost flat. The trick is a good camera angle.

Good hike - The Narrows

Narrow high walled gorge with clear water rushing through it.
